Canadian coffee icon Tim Hortons recently revealed it’s plans to expand to the Middle East. According to the Apparel Group, (Tim Hortons franchise partner in the region) the company plans to open 120 stores under the Tim Hortons name in the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf states over the next 5 years.
According to reports on Forbes.com, crowds of ex patriots have been gathering at the first Tim Hortons that recently opened in Dubai last month. Numerous foreign retailers have opened stores throughout the Gulf region, attracting wealthy locals and foreign professionals.
Tim Hortons move into the Middle East, follows competitors such as Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme who have already set up shop in the region.
